Dylan moved around often as a child and grew up between Boston, MA, Portland, OR, and New York City. He has lived in India, New Zealand, and Mexico. Dylan received a BA in Sociology from Sarah Lawrence College and a Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University.

Following an early career doing faith-based advocacy at the United Nations, Dylan was ordained as a Unitarian Universalist minister in 2017 and served congregations in New York City and Denver. Beyond the parish, Dylan also served as an interfaith hospital chaplain throughout New York City and Denver, highlighted by a year specializing in burn unit and neuro-ICU care as a year-long resident at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York. Dylan began his Ph.D in Religious Studies at the University of Denver for two years before transferring to the University of Colorado Boulder.

Dylan’s teaching and research reflects a personal and professional life marked by grief and trauma. Drawing from this background Dylan grounds his work in service, humility, and a dedication to bring technology to the forefront of positive social change.

Outside of the professional world Dylan performs poetry, music, does acro-yoga, and paddle boards with his Golden Doodle Basil.
